AWT Labels and Packaging has completed the acquisition of Citation Clinical Labeling Systems, Hauppauge, NY. The business will be owned by AWT and management, and operate under the name of Citation Healthcare Labels, LLC. Citation will provide clinical trial labels for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, clinical research organizations, and clinical packagers. The company was founded in 1963 by the family of Richard Bolnick, who will remain as president of Citation, as a diversified distributor of printing and labels. According to AWT, the acquisition strengthens its commitment to the global healthcare labeling market and will allow the firm to take advantage of growth opportunities in the clinical trial label markets.
